The WALIPP Senior Residence, a four-story structure with a central
elevator/atrium area, houses 42 two-bedroom apartments and 8 one-bedroom apartments designed for independent living by adults 55 and older. The facility was recently awarded the prestigious HPD Blue Star certification, given to multi-family housing properties, which achieve the highest standards of providing a safe and clean environment for its residents.

During Ike, the facility sustained roof and structural damage. Residents who are grateful for the support offered heart-felt testimony about the importance of this center, regaling the facility’s history.

WALIPP Senior Residence features an in-house laundromat, mail center, multifunctional activity center, dining/meeting room, kitchen, leasing office, storage and 2,000 square feet of commercial space. All apartments include a security system, cable and telephone connections, state-of-the-art appliances, accessible kitchens, bathrooms and closets and individual energy-efficient H.V.A.C. systems.

The Lawsons, long-standing and active members of the community, established the William A. Lawson Institute for Peace and Prosperity as a way to bridge the gap between the powerful and the powerless to achieve peace and prosperity.
